Harmony's Bridge: Where Inner Meets Outer

The Confluence of Heart and World

Within every individual resides an engraved core of tenderness and invulnerability. Perhaps this notion seems somewhat obscure, but each of us has experienced this soft inner core at certain moments. Whether completing an extraordinary task, being moved by a melody that touches the soul, embarking on a journey of unforgettable beauty, indulging in the splendor of art, recalling a beloved person, or being stirred by symbols such as Buddha and the Virgin Mary...

In those instances, a vast expanse beyond thought and logic opens up, allowing you to deeply feel resonance, a stirring, blessings, and love. In fact, sages of the past have bestowed various names upon this gentle, invincible inner core: vitality, creativity, and the original spirit...

Yet, as we distance ourselves from this core, surrendering ourselves completely, we lose the sense of connection and shelter. In that place devoid of protection, a voice emerges, asking, "How should I respond? I feel afraid..." This is a message signaling our detachment from ourselves. What we must do is bring ourselves back, reconnecting with the tender inner core. Let it sense your embrace, feel your connection. Say to it, "Hey, I'm here. I see you. I am with you. I won't abandon you. I will journey with you..."

Once we return to ourselves, stepping from the core into the world, and immersing ourselves in relationships, we no longer stretch ourselves excessively or lay ourselves bare...

Excessive outward expansion sows the seeds of anxiety
Excessive inner contraction sows the seeds of depression

By seeking a harmonious balance between self and the world, connecting with the core, and integrating with the outer world, we can better care for ourselves.

Embracing Flaws, Accompanied by Imperfections

If you hold onto the pursuit of perfection every day, anxiety will gradually assail you. Perfection implies closure, rigidity, control, and finality, where creativity cannot flourish. Every day, we encounter various challenges, problems, and flaws – this is the norm of life.

In reality, life's design, such as aging and illness, aims to shatter the barricades of perfection. We harbor deep attachment to our bodies, yet the advent of illness and aging helps us break free from this attachment, letting go of the chase for perfection.

As a counselor, I sometimes feel powerless, and unsure of how to truly assist others. This self-doubt accompanies me constantly. Hence, allowing oneself to exist in a state of imperfection is a true practice we must confront every day. When feeling powerless, enable yourself to genuinely accept, allowing imperfection. Confront the realities of life – this is the genuine practice that leads to the restoration of strength.

When you dedicate this practice to yourself, your existence shines like a beacon, illuminating the path for others to move forward.
